‘Power’ Gets Season 4 Premiere Date on Starz

Yesterday, Starz hit series Power received a premiere date for the summer season. According to Deadline, the fourth season will premiere on Starz on Sunday June 25 at 9 PM. It will also be available at midnight that same evening on the Starz app and On Demand. As Power has already been renewed for a fifth season, it is the first Starz series to reach the five season mark.

Following the story of James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), the fourth season follows the finale of season 3 where he was arrested wrongfully by his ex-girlfriend, Assistant U.S. Attorney Angela Valdes (Lela Loren), for the murder of an FBI agent.

Power first premiered in 2014, to positive reviews. Rapper mogul 50 Cent is an executive producer (also the writer/performer of the theme song “Big Rich Town”). The season 3 debut became the most watched episode of any Starz original series ever.

The creator of Power, Courtney Kemp Agboh (also known as Courtney A Kemp), came about after a coffeehouse meeting with 50 Cent and producer Mark Canton, and Agboh thought of what it would be like if a drug dealer decided to change paths and become an entrepreneur/business owner, but unable to completely detach from his past. Agboh serves as the showrunner and executive producer.
