According to Comicbook, Poker Face is currently one of Peacock’s biggest streamed premieres ever. Variety reports the numbers for many series and the ratings are quite impressive for NBCUniversal’s streaming platform. In the Nielsen streaming series, top ten Poker Face ranked at number three with Netflix’s That ‘90s Show at number two and Ginny & Georgia at number one. During the series’ first four days of airing, there has been a total of 547 million minutes viewed.
Due to its outstanding performance, it is no surprise that Peacock and NBCUniversal have renewed the series for a second season. Many fans love Natasha Lyonne (Russian Doll) solving mysteries especially when there is a vast trove of other celebrities taking part in a larger scheme.
Susan Rovner, Chairman, of Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television, and Streaming stated, “Poker Face is one of those rare, undeniable shows that we all fell in love with from the start, but the critical acclaim and viewer response has been beyond our wildest dreams. Working alongside the creative genius of Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne and Ram Bergman, along with our partners at MRC and T-Street, has been a spectacular ride, and we can’t wait to hit the road for another season as we continue to build momentum across Peacock’s original slate.”
Peacock describes Poker Face as a ten-episode ”mystery of the week” series created by Rian Johnson (Knives Out). It follows Charlie Cale ,played by Lyonne, who has an extraordinary ability to determine when an individual is lying. Every stop in the series is filled with different characters and strange crimes that just need to be solved.
Other than Lyonne, Poker Face’s cast includes Benjamin Bratt (Coco), Simon Helberg (The Big Bang Theory), Brandon Micheal Hall (Search Party), Pedro Hollywood (Kaleidoscope), Elsa Kennedy (Everything Will Be Fine in the End), and many others.
Poker Face is currently available on Peacock with episode nine premiering on March 2nd.
