‘Percy Jackson & The Olympians’ Brings Thalia Grace To Life In Season Two Update

Percy Jackson & The Olympians has released major news on the second season with the addition of Tamara Smart (Are You Afraid of the Dark?) who will play Thalia, daughter of Zeus, to the cast. According to Deadline, the first season ended with Percy played by Walker Scobell (Adam’s Project), Grover played by Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen), and Anabeth played by Leah Jeffries (Beast) completing their quest and finding out that Luke played by Charlie Bushnell (In the Know) was the lightning thief. The second season will surely take our hero into another world-saving adventure, and Thalia will play a major role in it. Tamara will be joined by Daniel Diemer (Brazen), who will play Tyson, Percy’s half brother, in the upcoming season.

According to Deadline, the author Rick Riordan(The Lost Hero) made a statement on Monday,”Thalia Grace is one of the most important characters in the Percy Jackson universe, so the right casting was critical. Thalia is a powerful warrior, a fiercely loyal friend, and a demigod rebel with a very ‘punk’ / ‘rage-against-the-machine’ sensibility. He continues with,”As soon as we saw Tamara Smart play this role, we knew we had found our daughter of Zeus. She was, no pun intended, electric. Tamara puts the ‘grace’ in Thalia Grace!”

According to Deadline, Tamara had previously worked with the late Lance Reddick (John Wick) in the Resident Evil series, in which they also played father and daughter, and she goes on to say, “they always spoke about working together again, so it’s that much more special and important to me to play his daughter once more as Thalia and to keep his memory alive.” She further adds,”I feel his presence all around me and strive to make him proud on this exciting journey.”

It looks like the second season will be filled with more thrilling adventure and the plot much more exciting with Tamara Smart added to the roster. Fans may rewatch the whole first season of Percy Jackson on Disney+ while they wait for more information on the second season’s premiere date.
