Percy Jackson & The Olympians has released major news on the second season with the addition of Tamara Smart (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), who will play Thalia, daughter of Zeus, to the cast.According to Deadline, the first season ended with Percy, played by Walker Scobell (Adam’s Project), Grover, played by Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen) and Annabeth, played by Leah Jeffries (Beast), completing their quest and finding out that Luke played by Charlie Bushnell (In the Know) was the lightning thief. The second season will surely take our hero into another world-saving adventure, and Thalia will play a major role in it.Smart will be joined by Daniel Diemer (Brazen), who will play Tyson, Percy’s half-brother, in the upcoming season.
According to Deadline, Smart had previously worked with the late Lance Reddick (John Wick) in the Resident Evil series, where they played father and daughter. Reddick was also in season one of the series, where he portrayed a sky god. Smart said about Reddick that they “always spoke about working together again, so it’s that much more special and important to me to play his daughter once more as Thalia and to keep his memory alive.” She further adds, “I feel his presence all around me and strive to make him proud on this exciting journey.”
It looks like the second season will be filled with more thrilling adventures, and the plot will be much more exciting with Smart added to the roster. Fans may rewatch the whole first season of Percy Jackson on Disney+ while they wait for more information on the second season’s premiere date.
