According to Deadline, Pedro Pascal won the fan vote for Male TV Star Of The Year at the People’s Choice Awards just last week. Six days later, he was voted by his peers for the SAG award of Male Actor in a Drama. Due to having lost at previous awards this season, Pascal was shocked when he won.
Deadline stated that in the press room after the SAG Awards, he drank tequila due to being “genuinely surprised” that he had won. Pascal even got teary eyed with his publicist. While Pascal accepted his People’s Choice Award virtually, he flew in for the SAG Awards from Vancouver where The Last Of Us is filing season two.
When asked about this upcoming season, Deadline claimed that Pascal said, “Filming is going amazing. It’s sort of awe-inspiring the kind of focus and dedication that everyone has going into Season 2.”
Pascal also went back to his award, Deadline said, where he exclaimed, “It’s incredible to be back home with them and creatively and everybody, our entire crew, they’re working harder than I could even imagine, even harder than our first season which is close to impossible. It’s pretty inspiring and unbelievable and this is because of them.”
Deadline continued to ask questions about how Pascal feels to be returning to the series, to which he replied, “Stepping into those boots again, it feels strangely brand new. I’ve never done anything like this before that has such original authorship before I ever got to it. And then to be given the space to author what would I have to give and to be under Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and alongside Bella Ramsey has been really the whole reason it works for me. I guess I’m learning something new every day, and I’ll be thinking about it probably for the rest of my life.”
There is currently no release date for season two.
