According to Deadline, Peacock‘s Crystal Lake has finished its series cast by adding Cameron Scoggins (Shades of Blue, Nashville), Devin Kessler (Godfather of Harlem), and Gwendolyn Sundstrom. This show is a prequel series of Friday the 13th, which Brad Caleb Kane (Aladdin, Extinction) is set to executive produce, as well as write and showrun.
Scoggins, Kessler, and Sundstorm will be joining previously announced stars, Linda Cardellini (Scooby-doo, Daddy’s Home) and William Catlett (Never Let Me Go, Abigail). The show’s narrative is being kept secret, via Deadline.
Deadline states that Cardellini will play the mother of the masked killer Jason Voorhees, Pamela Voorhees. Jason was believed to have drowned as a boy in Crystal Lake, but comes back years later seeking revenge for the murder of his serial killer mother, Pamela. The female antagonist in the first Friday the 13th film (1980) was played by Betsy Palmer (Queen Bee, Mister Roberts). The role was then passed on to Paula Shaw (Twist of Faith, Coming Home for Christmas), Marilyn Poucher (Friday the 13th: Part 3, Testament), and Nana Visitor (Killer Grandma, The Spirit) in different reboots, sequels, and crossovers. Catlett will play the character Levon Brooks.
Scoggins will play Dort, Kessler will play Briana Brooks, and Sundstorm will play Grace, Deadline notes.
The executive producers of Crystal Lake are Kane, A24, Victor Miller (Friday the 13th series, Rock Paper Scissors), Robert M. Barsamian (Friday the 13th: The Game), Marc Toberoff (Prey, I Spy), Stuart Manashil (To Catch a Killer, Boy Kills World), and Robert P. Barsamian (Crystal Lake). The directors are Michael Lennox (Say Nothing, Derry Girls), who is also an executive producer, Logan George (Caroline, Mouse), Celine Held (Topside, Caroline), and Quyen Tran (Palm Springs, Life in a Year), Deadline adds.
