Peacock TV Releases New Trailer for ‘Saved by the Bell’ Reboot

The Peacock TV reboot of the early 90s sitcom Saved by the Bell has released a new trailer for the upcoming season, according to CNN. The NBC-owned streaming platform announced the reboot for the series in the early fall of 2019 and is set to premiere the new rendition to audiences on November 25. Saved by the Bell was created by Sam Bobrick (The Andy Griffith Show, Get Smart) and developed by Peter Engel (City Guys) and ran from 1989 to 1993, amassing a total of eighty-six episodes over its four-season run on NBC.

The original Saved by the Bell centered on a group of students that attend Bayside High and their interactions with tackling various social issues that commonly afflict high school students in addition to broader societal issues as well. The reboot version of the series will follow a similar premise with returning cast members portraying older versions of themselves. Mario Lopez’s (Nip/Tuck, Extra) A.C. Slater will return as gym teacher at Bayside High in addition to Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s (Franklin & Bash, mixed-ish) Zack Morris becoming the California governor, Tiffany Thiessen’s (White Collar, Barely Hills, 90210) Kelly Kapowski, and Elizabeth Berkley’s (Showgirls) Jessie Spano.

Newer additions to the reboot cast include Mitchell Hoog (Harriet) as Morris and Kapowski’s son Mac, Belmont Cameli (The Husband) as Spano’s son Jamie, Josie Totah (Champions, Jessie) as Lexi, Dexter Darden (The Maze Runner) as Devante, Patrick Thomas O’Brien (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) as Mr. Dewey, John Michael Higgins (Best in Show, The Legend of Korra) as Principal Toddman, and many more.
