On Friday Peacock announced a script-to-series commitment for a new comedy starring Craig Robinson (The Office, Hot Tub Time Machine), via The Hollywood Reporter. The series is being helmed by Brooklyn Nine-Nine co-creator and producer Dan Goor (The Daily Show, Last Call with Carson Daly), and his partner Luke Del Tredici (30 Rock, Bored to Death).
The series entitled Killing It follows Robinson’s character as he strives to make the American dream a reality. The show will also explore themes of class and capitalism.
Goor and Tredici will compose the script as they join Robinson and Mark Schulman (Chelsea Lately) as executive producers. Robinson previously worked with Schulman on Fox’s canceled buddy paranormal comedy Ghosted.
Goor and Del Tredici have worked with Robinson in the past, as Robinson has appeared on NBC’s Brooklyn-Nine-Nine in a recurring role. Robinson plays Jake Peralta (Andy Samberg) nemesis, Doug Judy, also known as the “Pontiac Bandit,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
This is the second comedy vehicle starring Robinson at NBC. In 2015, he starred in the music teacher comedy Mr. Robinson.
