As The Office departs the streaming giant Netflix, it will find a new home on NBC’s streaming service known as Peacock, according to Comicbook. With long history of laughs and character development, the nine-season mockumentary series had been available on Netflix since 2013. Peacock will host the entire library of episodes and in addition an exclusive channel that plays randomly selected Office episodes 24/7. “The Office will be streaming exclusively on the Peacock streaming service, where it will have its own dedicated channel in addition to its full library of episodes being made available on-demand,” according to Comicbook.
In a humorous and celebratory gesture Peacock released a memo to its subscribers from Andy Buckley’s (Scott, Shameless) character David Wallace. The memo detailed how the show’s page will feature exclusive content episodes with deleted scenes and specific playlists that fans can enjoy at their leisure. The 24/7 channel will be called “The Office Zen” and the idea behind this was to let fans simply tune in and out of The Office whenever they wanted. “There will be no deciding which episode to watch or whether or not to starting binging the show from the very beginning. You can just watch The Office without really having to think about it,” as stated by Comicbook.
The Office was originally a U.K show that released on BBC in 2001 for only 14 episodes, in 2005 the U.S version came out and aired until 2013 with over 200 episodes. The highly successful sitcom became a hit and lead actors like Steve Carell, Rain Wilson, John Krasinski, and Jenna Fischer experienced unprecedented love for the characters they played in the show. Fans will be able to catch their favorite episodes exclusively on Peacock simply by signing up for a free account. Newcomers to the show will also be welcomed by a hassle free experience on the new “Office Zen” channel.
