Peacock Comedy ‘Killing It’ Renewed For Season 2

Peacock has renewed their new comedy series, Killing It, for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The comedy series, which stars Craig Robinson (Hot Tub Time Machine), debuted on the NBCUniversal streaming service in April.

Susan Rovner, Chairman of Entertainment Content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, released a statement on the show’s renewal.

“We knew we had a rare gem with Killing It and are thrilled Peacock audiences sank their teeth into this series, led by comedic legend Craig Robinson,” Rovner said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “We can’t wait to tell more twists and turns of one person’s hilarious, persistent pursuit of the American dream, from the incomparable creative minds of Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici and our partners at UTV, as Peacock continues to be a home for unique, thought-provoking and humor-filled comedies.”

Killing It was picked up by Peacock straight to series in July 2020 and is created by Dan Goor (Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Luke Del Tredici (Bored To Death). They serve as showrunners for the series as well and executive produce alongside Robinson.

The show is about a man trying to achieve the American Dream, but runs into obstacles, some involving snakes, while trying to do so.

Robinson stars alongside Claudia O’Doherty (Extra Ordinary), Rell Battle (Superior Donuts), Scott MacArthur (The Righteous Gemstones), Stephanie Nogueras (Switched At Birth), Wyatt Walter (Sydney To The Max), and Jet Miller (Young Dylan).

Goor and Tredici made a joint statement as well on Killing It receiving a second season.

“We are immensely grateful to everyone at Universal Television and Peacock,” Goor and Tredici said, per The Hollywood Reporter. “‘Snake-based economic satire’ isn’t exactly a familiar, beloved genre of television comedy, but they were fully behind the project from the start. We can’t wait to make more!”

It is currently unclear when the second season of Killing It will debut.
