Paul Feig is dipping his toe back into acting.
According to Deadline, the Bridesmaids and Ghostbusters director will guest star in CBS’ multi-camera comedy pilot 9J, 9K and 9L. Feig will play himself as the series lead, Josh (Mark Feuerstein), tries to get cast in his next movie.
9J, 9K and 9L, created by Feuerstein and Dana Klein, is based on Feuerstein’s adult life when he lived in an apartment between his parents and his brother’s family. The series focuses on his struggles to make it as an actor as he must deal with his ever-present family. Along with Feuersteing and Feig the pilot will feature David Walton, Liza Lapira, Linda Lavin, Elliot Gould and Matt Murray.
Feig originally got work as an actor before moving on to writing and directing, appearing in the Dirty Dancing TV series, It’s Garry Shandling’s Show, The Louie Show and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. Most of Feig’s writing/directing career has been in film, but his television work is just as impressive. He has directed episodes of The Office, Nurse Jackie, Arrested Development and Weeds. More importantly, Feig is the creator of cult hit Freaks and Geeks and the criminally unwatched Other Space.
9J, 9K and 9L comes from Kapital Entertainment and CBS TV Studios. It is executive produced by Feuerstein, Klein, Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Dana Honor.
