Patricia Arquette To Star In Apple’s ‘Severance’

A day after her third Golden Globe win, Patricia Arquette has been tapped to star in Severance, a workplace thriller drama that will be broadcast through Apple’s streaming service, Deadline recently discovered. She will lead the limited series alongside Adam Scott who will be playing a substantial role in the series, which is directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller. Severance, written by Dan Erickson, is described as an upcoming workplace thriller taking place in Lumen Industries, a company that’s trying to take work life balance to a new level. Scott will be playing Mark, an employee with a dark past trying to put himself together. Arquette will be assuming the role of Mark’s boss. This is the third time Arquette and Stiller will be joining forces for a project. The pair starred in David O Russel’s comedy film Flirting With Disaster which came out in 1996. They then reunited for Showtime’s limited series Escape From Danemora, which Ben Stiller also directed.

Erickson will be executive producing the show alongside Chris Black, who also executive produced Star Trek: Enterprise and Outcast, Ben Stiller, and Red Hour Productions’ very own Nicky Weinstock and Jackie Cohn. Scott will add his assistance as well as a producer. Endeavor Content, a studio that’s been the home of two of Apple TV+’s programs, See and Truth Be Told, is welcoming a third AppleTV+ program in Severance.

Arquette just came off The Act,a hulu Limited series about a daughter trying to escape the clutches of her overprotective mother, a role that landed her an Emmy and her third Golden Globe just last night. In addition to The Act, Arquette won another Emmy for Medium, She also won earned two Golden Globe for Escape at Danemora in 2019, and for Boyhood in 2015. There is currently no set premiere date for Severance on AppleTV+.
