Fox Cooks Up Gordon Ramsay-Produced Chef Comedy With ‘Uncle Buck’ Creators

Deadline reported that Fox is in the process of developing single-camera Gordon Ramsay-inspired chef comedy with Steven Cragg and Brian Bradley, the creators of the 2016 Uncle Buck series reboot, along with Studio Ramsay and Sidecar Content Accelerator, overseen by Gail Berman. The project is a co-production between SideCar and Fox Entertainment.

Written by Cragg and Bradley, with the name of Untitled Steven Cragg/Brian Bradley/Gordon Ramsay comedy, after an argument with her perfectionist, in where she demanded, Gordon Ramsay-like mentor, young chef, Lena, makes the decision to make a go of things on her own. She opens her own restaurant with the idea that there has to be a better way to run a kitchen. After a twist of fate, however, places the two back together, she finds herself stuck with former boss spouting off opinions in her kitchen and in her personal life, as well.

Cragg and Bradley are executive producers with Ramsay via Studio Ramsay and Gail Berman for Sidecar. Ramsay has no plans to act in the series himself.

Ramsay and Berman are reunited through the comedy, as Berman was Fox Entertainment President at the time the network teamed up with Ramsey for his first US reality series, Hell’s Kitchen.

The comedy comes from Emmy-nominated Ramsay, who currently has four primetime shows at Fox, as well as at the network. SideCar has been brought in as a creative partner to generate the idea for the series.

Gordon is the host and executive producer of Hell’s Kitchen, MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, and Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, in addition to yearly MasterChef Celebrity Showdown specials. Ramsay also executive produced Bravo’s Best New Restaurant and Food Network’s competition series Food Court Wars. In the UK, he’s produced Gordon Ramsay Behind Bars and Gordon’s Great Escape for Channel 4, among others.

Studio Ramsay produced the top-rated Gordon Ramsay’s 24 Hours to Hell and Back, which will be starting its third season soon. Studio Ramsay also produces Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted, which was recently picked up for a second season on National Geographic Channel. Studio Ramsay produces the BAFTA-nominated Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip for ITV, in the UK, and it’s currently in production on its second season. The Studio also backs the Channel 4 Series Born Famous, which was premiered this summer.

Bradley and Cragg created and executive produced the latest Uncle Buck reboot, which only aired on ABC for one season.  The two got their start in late-night as writers on MadTV and Saturday Night Live and also served as consulting producers on ABC’s Happy Endings and Scrubs.
