According to The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar nominee Sam Elliott has been cast for the second season of Paramount+’s Landman. The series has yet to announce Elliott’s role. The second season of Landman has not announced a premiere date for the upcoming season.
Elliott is known for his roles as Wade Garrett in Road House, Wild Wild West on Family Guy, Shea Brennan on 1883, Beau Bennett on The Ranch, Ward Hill Lamon on The Gettysburg Adress and many others.
Landman is “set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
The series stars Billy Bob Thornton (The Man Who Wasn’t There), Ali Larter (Final Destination), Jacob Loflaand (Maze Runner: The Death Cure), Michelle Randolph (A Snow White Christmas), Paulina Chavez (Fate: The Winx Saga), Kayla Wallace (When Calls the Heart), Mark Collie (Fire Down Below), James Jordan (Mayor of Kingstown), Demi Moore (Indecent Proposal), Jon Hamm (Radio Play Revival), Colm Feore (The Umbrella Academy), Mustafa Speaks (Seven Second), Mitchell Slaggert (Under the Sky) and many others
As per The Hollywood Reporter, the series ranked as a top 10 SVOD original series in the fourth quarter of last year alongside two other Paramount+ Taylor Sheridan dramas, which include Tulsa King and Lioness. Landman earned Thornton a Golden Globe nomination for its first season. The series had one of the highest premieres for Paramount+ with 35 million global streaming viewers.
Sheridan has a vast amount of original series on Paramount+, which includes 1923, 1883, Lioness, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and Lawmen: Bass Reeves. One of his most well-known series , Yellowstone , streams on Peacock.
Landman is available to stream on Paramount+.
