According to Deadline, Paramount+ has revealed the official premiere date for the second season of Landman. The streamer shared on Wednesday that Season two of Landman will premiere on November 16. The Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, Yellowstone) drama starring Billy Bob Thornton (Sling Blade, Bad Santa), Demi Moore (A Few Good Men, Ghost), Andy Garcia (The Godfather Part III, Father of the Bride) and Ali Larter (Legally Blondem, The Man in the White Vab) is from Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions.
As per Deadline, the second season of the Western drama will include new stars to the cast, including Sam Elliott (The Ranch, Ghost Rider) in an unknown role and Stefania Spampinato (The Most Beautiful Day In The World, The Good, the Bad, and the Dead) as Garcia‘s wife. The first season of the series ended in January with cartel boss Gallino sparing Tommy Norris from a torturous end. Tommy’s boss Monty Miller also died from a heart attack.
According to Deadline, although the first season of Landman was a hit when it aired on the streamer, the show was inexplicably snubbed by the Emmys this year. This didn’t stop the show’s momentum as it had 35 million global streaming viewers for the premiere episode and set new records for Paramount+.
As per Deadline, Landman is based on the 11-part podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly. The series is Co-created by Sheridan and Christian Wallace (Boomtown, The National Podcast of Texas). Landman is executive produced by Sheridan, Wallace, David C. Glasser (Hidden Obsession, Surviving Ohio State), David Hutkin (My Big Fat Greek Weeding, The Current War), Ron Burkle (The Giver, Safe Haven), Bob Yari (Papa Hemingway in Cuba, Agent Cody Banks), Thornton, Geyer Kosinski (Beyond Borders, School for Scoundrels), Michael Friedman (Lioness, 1883) and Stephen Kay (Get Carter, Sons of Anarchy). Dan Friedkin (Hot Summer Night, The Last Vermeer) and Jason Hoch (Killers of the Flower Moon, The Comeback) for Imperative Entertainment, and J.K. Nickell (Tom Brown’s Body, Boomtown) and Megan Creydt (Night in West Texas, Hit Man) for Texas Monthly also executive produce. Tommy Turtle (Loki, Moon Knight) serves as co-executive producer.
