Paramount+ has unveiled an official teaser for the upcoming spy thriller Rabbit Hole. The eight-episode series is set to star two-time Emmy winner Kiefer Sutherland (24, Designated Survivor).
Rabbit Hole follows John Weir, played by Sutherland, a master of deception in the world of corporate espionage, who is framed for murder by powerful forces who have the ability to influence and control populations, says Comic Book. Sutherland serves as the executive producer of the show, alongside writers and directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who both received four Emmy nominations for producing the hit comedy-romance This Is Us. Charlie Gogolak (The Sinner, Focus), Suzan Bymel (Designated Survivor, Touch), and Hunt Baldwin (Longmire, The Closer) will also be directing.
In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, Ficarra described the drama as “about a man whose life is built on a lie, who lies for a living, who gets thrust into this battle of wits when he’s framed for a murder of a government official — or it might be something else entirely. It’s about manipulation. It’s about disinformation. It’s about questioning your everyday reality. What is real?”
Additionally, Requa said, “And trust. It’s about people trying who can’t trust, people trying to find trust, trying to figure out what trust is. Isn’t that the center of all relationships?”
Sutherland himself spoke highly of the series: “To have the opportunity to play a character whose entire essence is founded in being in control, only to have that stripped away, and then thrust into a world where up is down, left is right, etc., was very exciting to me. Also, to have the opportunity to work with John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who I have so much respect for as directors and writers, made this one of the easier decisions I’ve had to make.”
Joining Sutherland are four-time Emmy nominee Charles Dance (The Imitation Game, Game of Thrones), Rob Yang (Succession, The Americans), Meta Golding (Surrogates, Empire), Enid Graham (Mare of Easttown, The Sinner), Jason Butler Harner (Ozark, Changeling), and Walt Klink (The English, Arctic Circle), among others. They will be portraying Dr. Ben Wilson, Edward Homm, Hailey Winton, Josephine “Jo” Madi, Valence, and The Intern, respectively.
Rabbit Hole will premiere with two episodes on Paramount+ on Sunday, March 26. The following episodes will be released every Sunday. The trailer is available below.
