Fox Renews ‘The Simpsons,’ ‘Family Guy,’ ‘Bob’s Burgers’ For Two More Seasons

Fox has renewed animated series The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers for two more seasons, carrying them through the 2024-2025 broadcast cycle, according to Deadline. Bob’s Burgers will return for seasons 14 and 15, and Family Guy will return for seasons 22 and 23, via Deadline. The Simpsons continues to be the longest running primetime scripted series in television history with its renewal for seasons 35 and 36, according to Deadline

President of Scripted Programming for Fox Entertainment Michael Thorn tells Deadline, “With this trio of renewals, we celebrate excellence in animation on Fox, our wonderful, longtime partnership with 20th Television and the brilliant creators and incredible voices behind these forever favorites. Three-plus decades of The Simpsons, more than two decades of Family Guy and over a decade of Bob’s Burgers proves the enduring power of the animation genre on our network and the infinite fan affinity for these outrageously funny comedy classics.”

The Simpsons follows the satiric adventures of a working-class family in the misfit city of Springfield. The cast includes Dan Castellaneta (Super 8, Space Jam), Nancy Cartwright (Godzilla, Rugrats), Julie Kavner (Click, Hannah and Her Sisters), and Yeardley Smith (Maximum Overdrive, As Good as It Gets).

Family Guy follows a dysfunctional family in a wacky Rhode Island town as they strive to cope with everyday life as they are thrown from one crazy scenario to another. The cast includes Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Sing), Alex Borstein (Bad Santa, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Seth Green (The Italian Job, Robot Chicken), and Mila Kunis (Black Swan, Forgetting Sarah Marshall).

Bob’s Burgers follows Bob Belcher as he runs his dream restaurant with his wife and three children as their last hope of holding the family together. The cast includes H. Jon Benjamin (Archer, Not Another Teen Movie), Dan Mintz (Veep, The Goldbergs), Eugene Mirman (Delocated, Eugene!), John Roberts (Gravity Falls, Fire Island), and Kristen Schaal (Gravity Falls, The Muppets).

All three series currently hold spots among the top ten comedies for the 2022-2023 seasons, with Family Guy’s fifth, The Simpsons’ fourth, and Bob’s Burgers second consecutive season on the list, via Deadline

EVP of 20th Television Animation Marci Proietto tells Deadline,“Across 750 episodes of The Simpsons, 400 episodes of Family Guy, and 250 episodes of Bob’s Burgers, we couldn’t be more proud to continue delivering these three animated hits with the most brilliant teams in animation. Our relationship with Fox over the past three decades has allowed this trio of shows to thrive, grow and deliver immeasurable moments of hilarious and irreverent entertainment for fans, and we are absolutely thrilled that Fox is doubling down on each of these iconic shows.”
