Reno 911!: The Hunt For QAnon gets its premiere date on Paramount Plus, airing on December 23, via Variety. Paramount Plus also released a teaser for it. The Hunt For QAnon serves as a special to the Reno series, which debuted lasted from 2003 to 2009. The show was revived in 2020 with 25 new episodes. The revival became a critical success, earning the series four Primetime Emmy Awards nominations and one Critic’s Choice Television Awards nomination.
Reno 911! is a mockumentary style parody of law enforcement documentary shows, specifically the Fox Broadcasting Company reality series Cops, with comic actors playing the police officers. Most of the dialogue in the mockumentary was unscripted, allowing the cast to frequently improvise their lines.
The special will follow the deputies of the Reno Sheriff’s Department as they hunt for the mysterious Q, the alleged master brain behind all the QAnon conspiracies. They end up landing at Jeffrey Epstein’s old island after getting stuck at a QAnon convention at sea, which is a highly controversial location regarding the QAnon theories.
