‘One Piece’ Releases An Announcement For A Special Las Vegas Sphere Takeover

The One Piece celebration has begun. This year, One Piece will be celebrating its 25th anniversary as the first iteration of the series was released in October of 1999. Now, the famous anime series created by Eiichiro Oda (One Piece Film: Red, One Piece Film: Z, One Piece Film: Gold) has announced a special celebration in Las Vegas, Comicbook.com reports. In the past few years, One Piece has become streaming fan-favorite, including with the new Netflix live-action series.

According to Comicbook.com, the celebration will take place at the Last Vegas Sphere in June. The entertainment arena put out statement that reads, “The Straw Hat Pirates are set to takeover the biggest screen in celebration of the 25th anniversary of One Piece! A stunning, larger than life display of the anime series will debut on the Last Vegas Sphere from June 10-16.” It seems like One Piece will be having something very special planned for fans who are residents of Las Vegas, and everyone is excited to see what it is.

According to Comicbook.comOne Piece has done other events like this one in the past. Recently, Las Vegas opened the first official One Piece Cafe at the beginning of this month. The cafe has delivered special themed meals from the anime series along with merchandise for visitors of the cafe. Additionally, there is currently no confirmation if other cafe locations will open up in the United States.

One Piece is currently ongoing, with another arc on the way at the end of the year. To find out more about the anime series One Piece, Comicbook.com has provided an official synopsis that reads, “As a child, Monkey D. Luffy was inspired to become a pirate by listening to the tales of the buccaneer “Red-Haired” Shanks. But Luffy’s life changed when he accidentally ate the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit and gained the power to stretch like rubber…at the cost of never being able to swim again! Years later, still vowing to become the king of the pirates, Luffy sets out on his adventure…one guy alone in a rowboat, in search of the legendary “One Piece,” said to be the greatest treasure in the world…”

One Piece is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Netflix and Hulu.
