‘One Piece’ Episode 1000 Dub Will Premiere At Anime Expo

According to Comicbook, the anime series One Piece will be premiering the dub version of its 1000th episode at the Anime Expo. Although the current Wano climax is happening in Japan, the dub version of the series is moving differently in America. The English dub of the series is nearing its 100th episode on July 2nd, 2023 as opposed to its Japanese sub that aired on November 20th, 2021.

Anime Expo in a Twitter post stated, “Get ready to celebrate the historic 1000th episode of One Piece live & in-person,” the event shared earlier today in a special announcement. Catch the World Premiere of the new English dub for EP. 1000 on July 2nd during Anime Expo featuring giveaways, autograph signings, a live drawing, Q&A with animators, and more!”

According to Comicbook, the series already has reached its 1000th episode milestone in Japan and now has 1063 episodes and it is still ongoing. Toei Animation, the studio behind the series, has spared no expense when it comes to the current  Wano saga in the series. It is even rumored that Warner Bros will be animating one of the upcoming episodes for the Japanese sub.

The One Piece anime, based on Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga series with the same name, follows the story of a young pirate named Monkey D. Luffy and his journey to become the pirate king and find the One Piece.  Along his journey, he travels to different islands and faces many obstacles along the way with his crew the Straw Hats.

Many fans of the series can also look forward to the One Piece live-action series premiering sometime this year on Netflix.
