According to Deadline, the live-action One Piece has added several members to the crew. Well, not the Straw Hats, but three new members will be joining the cast for the upcoming third season, which will cover the Alabasta arc. Emilio Sakraya (Rheingold, Those About to Die, Fortitude), Omid Abtahi (The Mandalorian, American Gods), Jamie Ward (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) and Nabeel Khan (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Strike Back) are set to head to the desert kingdom. Sakarya will play Koza, Abahi will play Toto, and Khan will play Chaka. The rest of the new cast is yet to be revealed.
The Straw Hats have now entered The Grand Line. After facing several treacherous threats, they are in for their toughest battle yet. Princess Vivi’s home country of Alabasta is tearing at the seams; a possible revolution and corruption abound. At the center of it all is one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, Sir Crocodile, who runs the secretive operation known as Baroque Works. The Straw Hats must bring peace to Alabasta and take down Crocodile to protect their newfound friend and her home.
Returning original cast members including, Iñaki Godoy (The Imperfects, MexZombies), Mackenyu (Knights Of The Zodiac, Pacific Rim: Uprising), Emily Rudd (Hunters, The Romanoffs), Jacob Romero (Grey’s Anatomy, Blairsden), Taz Skyla (Monitor, Two Neighbors), Charithra Chandra (Eternals, Fight Or Flight), Mikaela Hoover (Beef, Superman), Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Nonnas), Lera Abova (Anna, Exterritorial) and Sendhil Ramamurthy (Beauty And The Beast, Heros). Cole Escola (Hacks, Family Guy), Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai, Blue Beetle), Daisy Head (The Proxy, Wrong Turn), and Awdo Awdo (Under Siege) were previously announced as new cast members.
Joe Tracz (Dash & Lily, A Series Of Unfortunate Events) and Ian Stokes (Warehouse 13, Teen Wolf) take on the roles of co-showrunners, executive producers, and writers. Other executive producers include original author Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Marty Adelstein (Black Christmas, Made Of Honor), Becky Clements (Snowpiercer, Hanna), Tetsu Fujimura (Ghost In The Shell, Tekken), Chris Symes (Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator), Christoph Schrewe (Mr. Robot, Snowpiercer) and Steven Maeda (The X-Files, Day Break).
