The official trailer for Netflix’s new action series FUBAR has now been released. FUBAR stars Arnold Schwarzenegger (The 6th Day, Last Action Hero) and Monica Barbaro (Top Gun: Maverick, The Good Cop), according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The premise of the show is that a father (Schwarzenegger) and daughter (Barbaro) are both CIA operatives but have kept it a secret from each other for years. Upon discovering this fact, they realize that their relationship has been based on lies and they are essentially strangers. The show follows their journey as they come to terms with this revelation and are forced to work together as partners. The series explores themes of family dynamics within the context of a global backdrop of espionage, action, and humor, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“Fubar will kick your ass and make you laugh — and not just for two hours. You get a whole season,” declared Schwarzeneggar via Variety.
According to ComicBook, the trailer opens with a heartwarming scene between father and daughter, but tensions arise as Luke Brunner, played by Schwarzenegger, embarks on a mission to rescue Emma, played by Monica Barbaro. As the action unfolds, it becomes apparent that there are underlying family issues causing friction between them. The question remains: Will they be able to overcome their differences and survive their dangerous mission in a foreign country?
Also starring in the series is Fabiana Udenio (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Jane the Virgin), Jay Baruchel (Goon, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice), Fortune Feimster (The Mindy Project, Chelsea Lately), Barbara Eve Harris (The Amazing Spider-Man, People Like Us), Aparna Brielle (Boo, Bitch, A.P. Bio), Milan Carter (Warped!, The Neighborhood), Travis Van Winkle (Friday the 13th, Transformers) Andy Buckley (Jurassic World, The Lying Game), and Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
