The second panel of NYCC 2024 was the one for AMC+’s Mayfair Witches. The panelists shared an exclusive look at the entire first episode of the second season and then proceeded to do a Q&A panel with the cast. To conclude, the panelists also announced the upcoming season’s winter release date, which is on Jan. 5, 2025.
The cast and crew attending the panel included Tongayi Chrisa (Antebellum, Crusoe), who portrays Ciprien Grieve; Esta Spalding (Da Vinci’s Inquest, Falling Angels), who is the writer and co-creator of the series; Mark Johnson (The Holdovers, Rain Man), who is the executive producer of the series, Alyssa Jirrels (Fatal Attraction, This Is The Year), who will be portraying Moira Mayfair in the second season and Harry Hamlin (Clash Of The Titans, Harry Loves Lisa), who portrays Cortland Mayfair.
The first part of the panel was the one-hour special advanced screening of the first episode of the upcoming second season. Fans looked ecstatic yet focused on what was happening. The main lead, Alexandra Daddario (White Collar, Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief), delivered fantastic acting, and many plot twists will leave the viewer attached to the screen trying to anticipate what could happen next. “In the second part of the panel, the cast and crew discussed the first episode of season two and what’s coming up next for the series as they replied to a few questions from the fans sent in an online survey. When Jirrels was asked about having headphones in the entirety of her screen time in the first episode, she jokingly shared, “It was actually like I was listening to music on my headphones on set.” The audience roared with laughter at this comment.
Furthermore, when asked if the cast would be friends with their Mayfair Witches character, Jitters was the first to reply, as she stated, “Yes. If someone can read your mind, that is a good friend.”
The cast continued by teasing about possible crossovers in this upcoming season. Also, they were asked if there were any Easter eggs in the first episode, to which the cast shared that there would not be, but there may be some in the future. They confirmed there will be a crossover with a character from Interview With A Vampire in the third episode but did not share who it is. To conclude, the cast shared that there were no Easter Eggs in this first episode, but maybe in the future.
