During NYCC 27, Percy Jackson and the Olympians returned to New York Comic-Con on the Main Stage, moderated by Damian Holbrook (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, In Creative Company) with series star Walker Scobell (The Adam Project, Looking through Water), who plays Percy Jackson, sharing an exclusive sneak peek at what is to come in the new season. The panel had announced that season three will have a two-episode premiere on November 20, followed by two new episodes dropping each week on Disney+ and Hulu. The new season will adapt the third book in the franchise.
Holbrook started the panel by asking Scobell questions, starting off by asking him what got him into acting. Scobell stated that he really wanted to be an Avenger, and this is the closest he can get to one. He auditioned for the role when he heard that his books were being adapted into a series by Disney+.
They also talked about how, over the years, Scobell has grown, now finally having his own license and driving his younger brother around.
They concluded the panel by showing a sequence from the new season and then opening up to questions from fans. The sequence showed how much older the cast of the series has gotten in this new installment. It also showed how much of a relationship was built between the characters.
The third season of the series is based on The Titan’s Curse, the third installment of Disney Hyperion’s bestselling book series by acclaimed author Rick Riordan (The Sun and the Star, The Seas of Monsters). If Percy Jackson learned anything after completing two epic quests with Annabeth Chase, it’s that he would be lost without her. The third season of of the series stars Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries (Empire, Beast), Aryan Simhadri (Cheaper by the Dozen, Freakier Friday), Charlie Bushnell (In the Know, Diary of a Future President), Tamara Smart (The Worst Witch, Resident Evil) and Levi Chrisopulos (FBI, IMDb on the Scene).
Percy Jackson and the Olympians is available to stream on Disney+.
