FOX Entertainment is back at Comic-Con with two heavy hitters who have a lively conversation about Fox’s new Sunday night comedy lineup. Jon Hamm (Top Gun: Maverick, Your Friends & Neighbors) and Joel McHale (Scream 7, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World) join the panel to talk about both their respective series on Fox, which include Hamm inand McHale in Animal Control.
Michael Schneider (History of the Sitcom, 100 Years of Warner Bros.) introduces Hamm and McHale to the stage. The two comedians talk about their respective shows before we get a sneak peek at the current new seasons of each.
The first series shows a scene from the current season: Animal Control, as they showed were the team in the series is at now. McHale’s character, Frank Shaw, receives a negative review from someone he saved, that complicated him for helping her out. McHale is happy that the show’s time slot is now right after The Simpsons. Hamm talks about Grimsburg and does the voice for the character of Marvin Flute before they showed a scene from the current season of the series. Afterwards, McHale tried to call Dan Harmon (Rick and Morty, President Curtis) to add Hamm to the Community movie and just like the day before, the phone call went straight to voicemail.
The panel is interrupted when fans are asked to ask the two comics questions. The first one up to the mic was a surprise to everyone, as it was Ken Jeong (Crazy Rich Asians, The Masked Singer) who went up to the mic and started asking questions like, “My question is for John Hamm: can you be the lead actor to Community for Dan Harmon to return our calls?”
Jeong also said, “Can you also be the lead in Animal Control?”
Hamm’s answer to both questions was, “Yes, and that’s a Jon Hamm promise.”
Grimsburg and Animal Control are both available on Fox and available to stream on Hulu.
