Norse Mythology Show from Zack Snyder Coming to Netflix

While it’s likely you will never see a Snyder Cut of Justice League, there is future television project from Zack Snyder fans can look forward to. Zack Snyder is the co-creator of a Norse Mythology show coming to Netflix. It is the first television show Zack Snyder has ever created. The series will further expand Netflix’s anime collection.

The currently untitled series was co-created by Zack Snyder and Jay Oliva. Snyder and Oliva will executive produce the series. The two have collaborated frequently in the past on projects such as Man of Steel, Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and 300: Rise of an Empire. Oliva will also be the showrunner and director. Deborah Snyder (Wonder Woman) and Wesley Coller (Watchmen) will also produce the project. The project will be made with Stone Quarry Animation.

John Derderian, the head of anime programming at Netflix, said in a statement, “Zack Snyder’s innovation in visual storytelling has pushed the industry forward and established him as one of the most distinctive filmmakers of his generation. We are beyond excited to partner with him and his exceptional team to bring the iconic characters and stories of Norse mythology to life in his inimitable style.”

Snyder is currently working on another Netflix project. The project is a feature film called Army of the Dead. The film is a zombie horror/thriller. Army of the Dead will be directed and produced by Snyder. The story was created by Snyder, but the script will be penned by Joby Harold (John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum). The film follows ragtag group of mercenaries trying to pull off a heist in Las Vegas, which has become a quarantine zone due to a zombie outbreak. The film is expected to be massive and some sources believe the budget could be as high as ninety million dollars. Snyder commented to The Hollywood Reporter, “It will be the most kick-ass, self-aware — but not in a wink-to-the-camera way — balls-to-the-wall zombie freakshow that anyone has ever seen. No one’s ever let me completely loose [like this].” Production on the film is expected to begin this summer.
