According to Entertainment Weekly, Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, played by Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, Helluva Boss), will be exploring both the French countryside and Paris’s most recognizable landmarks. In the latest teaser trailer, we see Daryl floating along the Seine through Paris, and a quick shot of a damaged Eiffel Tower.
Reedus touched on the change in scope that Daryl Dixon brings to The Walking Dead universe. “You see that scope in certain places that people don’t usually get to shoot in,” he said. “We’re in the Catacombs, we’re in the Louvre, we’re all over the place. So that French countryside scope and that backdrop changes into different backdrops of insane magnitude.”
Recent teasers revealed a new character, Laurent, played by Louis Pueh Scigliuzzi. He’s described as “An 11-year-old boy born just as the hungry ones appeared, he grew up in an abbey protected by nuns, shielded from the violence of the outside world. He seems insightful and wise beyond his years.”
The mention of nuns is a constant theme in the teasers for the show. Another recent teaser showed Daryl strapped down and fending off a nun with a hot poker. A new nun character was also revealed. Isabelle, played by Clemence Poesy, (The Tunnel, Tenet) is described by AMC as “A smart, headstrong nun capable of protecting herself and the people she loves, Isabelle escaped to the countryside when the hungry ones arrived.”
These latest teaser images and scenes are part of a move by AMC to build up attention and hype for their numerous The Walking Dead spinoff series, including The Walking Dead: Dead City, which began to air last month.
Fans can catch up with Daryl when the series airs its first episode on September 10th. The offical trailer for the series has also been released.
