Lisa Kudrow (The Boss Baby), who has been nominated for her role as Phoebe in the sitcom, Friends, is teaming up with Ray Romano (Ice Age), in Netflix’s comedy series, No Good Deed, according to Deadline. Kudrow is set to play Lydia Morgan, who is a famous former concert pianist, and devoted wife to Ramno’s character, Paul. The story follows the perspective of three families, who are gunning for the same Spanish-style villa. The series is created by Liz Feldman (Dead to Me), and described as a dark comedy. While details about the plot remain under wraps, we know the series will explore the complexities of family dynamics through a lens of twisted humor and unexpected turns.
According to Deadline, with Feldman’s role as showrunner, the show will be co-executive produced by Will Ferrell (Spirited) and Jessica Elbaum (Booksmart) for Gloria Sanchez Productions, and Christie Smith (The Rehearsal) with Silver Tree, who will be directing the pilot and future episodes. Casting will be overseen by Sherry Thomas (Breaking Bad, Barry) and Russell Scott (The Handmaid’s Tale, S.W.A.T.).
As reported by Deadline, Kudrow has several upcoming projects. She will star in The Parenting, a horror comedy along with Edie Falco and Brian Cox which will air on Max. She’s also set to appear in the series adaptation of Terry Gilliam’s (Brazil, Monty Python & the Holy Grail) Time Bandits for Apple TV. Thor: Love & Thunder director and Our Flag Mean Death star Taika Waititi is set to direct, executive produce, and co-write the series.
Kudrow’s iconic role on NBC’s Friends won her an Emmy in 1998. She has since then earned 15 Emmy nominations as an actor and producer. She most recently landed a nomination for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded) as an EP on the Max Friends: The Reunion special along with her Friends co-stars.
