According to Variety, Nicole Kidman (The Hours) has stated that the third season of HBO’s Big Little Lies is in “ Good Shape.” During an interview with Vanity Fair, Kidman and co-star Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde) recently spoke about the series and the potential third season In the past, Kidman has talked about the series moving forward with another season installment. This time, Witherspoon added, “This one has already said too much.”
“I got excited,” Kidman admitted about letting some “Big Little Lies season three news slip out prematurely. “We need to shut up. There’s a whole thing about how you should never talk about something until you’ve done it because if you talk about doing it then it’s the dopamine hit of doing it and you feel like you’ve done it. It’s a scientific study.”
As per Variety, in January, Kidman stated to them that she and Witherspoon message one another every day about the third season. In March, she also said that her daughter, Sunday Rose, took part. Sunday demanded another season after the second season ended and even criticized her mother’s character arc.
Kidman said, “My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, ‘Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third. “She’s like, ‘Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise.”
According to Variety, Kidman plays the character of Celeste in the second season of the series. *Spoiler Ahead* Celeste and her friends have to keep the truth about the death of Celeste’s husband a secret from his pestering mother, Mary Louise. HBO and Max content chairman and CEO Casey Bloys told Variety earlier in the year that the network is ready for the third installment of the series.
Bloys said, “Where you have all these stars, you’ve got to get their schedules in line, we have to get it written. So, there’s a lot that needs to be done. It’s very early stages right now. The entire cast is doing shows and movies, and everybody’s very busy. But it’s a very special group. They love working together. And when they land on an idea, I believe they will make it happen. We’re excited when they’re ready, and we will take those steps when they’re ready.”
Big Little Lies is available to stream on Max.
