Nickelodeon Renews ‘The Loud House’ for Sixth Season

Nickelodeon has officially renewed its highly successful animated comedy The Loud House, Deadline reported today. This upcoming sixth season will be 26 episodes, making it one of Nickelodeon’s longest-running animated series ever with 156 episodes total including these sixth season episodes.

The sixth season will follow a similar formula to the rest of the series. In The Loud House, 11-year-old Lincoln Loud (voiced by Asher Bishop, Summer Camp Island) is the only boy in a family of 12. The series follows Lincoln as he tries to keep up with the chaos of such a large family and the everyday challenges of being a kid. While this core concept will remain, the fifth season features a new, notable development. Lincoln will be moving on to middle school, bringing a whole slew of new problems for him to overcome, and this will carry on over to the sixth season. Other notable voice cast members include Grey Griffin (Avatar: The Last AirbenderScooby-Doo), Catherine Taber (Star Wars: The Clone Wars), and Jessica DiCicco (Close Enough).

The series is one of Nickelodeon’s most successful to date. The series has seen critical acclaim for its commitment to diversity, particularly for the inclusion of Nickelodeon’s first-ever married gay couple on screen. The characters Howard (Michael McDonald, Scrubs) and Harold (Wayne Brady, How I Met Your Mother) are the fathers of Clyde McBride (Andre Robinson, Doc McStuffins), best friend of Lincoln. The Loud House has also seen success in children’s books, comic books, a digital album, and a podcast hosted by the characters of the show called Listen Out Loud. According to Deadline, the series “currently ranks as the No 1 animated show across all television with kids 6-11 year-to-date.”

The fifth season of The Loud House will debut on September 11th at 7 PM EST. The series is available to stream on CBS All Access.
