According to The Hollywood Reporter, Daniella Monet (Zoey 101, iCarly) is set to play a struggling actress returning to her former high school as a substitute teacher in Netflix’s Victorious spin-off off Hollywood Arts. From Paramount Television Studios, the spinoff will be executive-produced by Monet as she also stars in the series.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, joining Monet on the series includes Alyssa Miles (The First, Vocal Star Virtual Showcase Live), Emmy Liu-Wang (The Slumber Party, Raven’s Home), Peyton Jackson (First Christmas, Nobody’s Fool), Erika Swayze (School Spirits, Workin’ Moms) and Martin Kamm (Kill Devil Hills, Unsung Hero), with Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Drake & Josh) guest starring.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the logline for the new series reads as follows: “In this all-new series, struggling actress Trina Vega returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as an unqualified substitute teacher, quickly finding herself both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of ambitious and talented students as they learn to find their true path at Hollywood’s most elite performing arts school.”
“Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do. Victorious was in a lot of ways life changing for all of us, our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can’t begin to describe. As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world,” Monet said in a statement via The Hollywood Reporter.
As per The Hollywood Reporter, Nickelodeon’s Victorious aired on the network in 2010 and had a four-season run until 2013. The series followed the life of Tori Vega as she tries to navigate through a new high school filled with gifted students. After airing on Netflix Hollywood Arts will get additional play on Nickelodeon and Paramount+.
