According to Comicbook, Netflix has just revealed an official trailer for the very anticipated series Castlevania: Nocturne, new animated series to join Netflix’s ranks as a form of expanding the Castlevania Universe. After the ending of Castlevania, the animated series in 2021, many fans of the series worried about what would be next. Luckily they did not need to wait long as Netflix a year later gave an announcement of the upcoming series in the works. The series premieres on Netflix on September 28th.
Down below is the official trailer for Castlevania: Nocturne.
According to Comicbook, the series is much further in the future of the Castlevania animated series and follows the child of the known heroes Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. The new installment will follow Richter Belmont during some of the biggest entries of the Castlevania games which the series is based on.
According to Comicbook, Netflix teases the plot of the series as such, “France, 1792 – the height of the French Revolution. In a remote part of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a terrifying Vampire Messiah, who promises to ‘eat the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and enslave humanity. Annette, a sorceress from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, last descendant of the long-fabled family of vampire hunters, to lead the resistance.”
Castlevania the animated series and Castlevania: Nocturne are both inspired by the video game franchise based around dark medieval fantasy. The story of both series, just like the games, follows the disgraced Belmont family as they try to save Europe from different monsters such as vampires.
Castlevania: Nocturne will premiere on September 28th and season one will have eight episodes. All seasons of Castlevania the animated series are available to stream on Netflix.
