According to Deadline, season two of Apple TV+’s drama The Buccaneers is coming soon. The series was based on the unfinished Edith Wharton (The House of Mirth, The Age of Innocence) novel, and it was renewed for a sophomore installment shortly after the initial release at the end of 2023.
The show stars Kristine Frøseth (The Society, Sharp Stick) as Nan St. George, Guy Remmers (Lessons) as Theo, Matthew Broome (My Fault: London) as Guy Thwarte, Christina Hendricks (Good Girls, Mad Men) as Mrs. Patricia St. George, and others. During the last season, Nan had to make a difficult decision between two men — Guy and Theo, the Duke of Tintagel, Deadline states.
Season two of The Buccaneers will premiere on Apple TV+ on Wednesday, June 18, with just the first episode. This season will have eight episodes, similar to the last season, and following the first episode, one episode will come out per week on Wednesdays through August 6, 2025. The first two episodes have released titles: episode one titled “The Duchess of Tintagel” and episode two titled “Holy Grail.” Episode three comes out July 2, episode four on July 9, episode five on July 16, episode six on July 23, episode seven on July 30, and finally episode eight on August 6, Deadline notes.
Deadline adds that the returning cast of season two, aside from Frøseth, Broome, Remmers, and Hendricks include Aubri Ibrag (Dive Club) as Elizabeth “Lizzy” Elmsworth, Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why, 68 Kill) as Conchita Closson, Imogen Waterhouse (The Outpost, Braid) as Virginia “Jinny” St. George, Josie Totah (Jessie, Glee) as Mabel Elmsworth, Josh Dylan (Mamma Mia!, The Little Stranger) as Lord Richard Marable, Mia Threapleton (I Am…, Shadows) as Honoria Marable, and Barney Fishwick (Showtrial, Living) as Lord James Seadown.
Leighton Meester (Gossip Girl, Monte Carlo) is making her debut in season two, playing Nell, with Grace Ambrose (Here Now, Once Upon a Time in Bethlehem) as Paloma Ballardino, Greg Wise (Walking on Sunshine, Effie Gray) as Reede Robinson, Maria Almeida (The Strays, Gangs of London) as Cora Merrigan, and Jacob Ifan (Cuffs, Bang) as Hector Robinson, as mentioned by Deadline.
Recapping season one, Nan, her sister, and friends traveled together to England to get themselves some husbands, not counting Conchita who got married in the first episode. Each person within the core quintet had their own unique experience with relationships and love: Lizzy dodges a bullet in Lord Seadown, Nan becomes torn between mysterious Theo and charming Guy Thwarte, Mabel realizes that she is not alone in her soulmate search, and Jinny gets caught up in Lord Seadown’s crosshairs. The season one finale was made up of Nan deciding to marry Theo, meanwhile, her true love Guy takes her sister to flee from her abusive husband with their baby, Deadline revealed.
