According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix’s series Nobody Wants This has added a slew of big names to guest-star and recurring roles for season 3, including the show’s creator herself, Erin Foster (Barely Famous, Daddy Issues). The legendary comedic genius Sarah Silverman (Postmortem, Someone You Love) will also be joining the cast, with other additions including Andrew Rannells (Girls, Black Monday), Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Abbott Elementary, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Steven Weber (Chicago Med, Wings), Avan Jogia (Now Apocalypse, Twisted), Poorna Jagannathan (Abbott Elementary, Never Have I Ever), Stephenie Koenig (Abbot Elementary, English Teacher), and Sadie Sandler (You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, Grown Ups).
The biggest addition, multiple Prime Time Emmy Award-winning Silverman, is set to take on the role of Rabbi Eden, an inviting and warm instructor of the “intro to Judaism” class attended by both Kristen Bell (The Good Place, Veronica Mars) and Adam Brody’s (Fleishman is in Trouble, The O.C.) characters. Rannells will be joining the cast playing the role of Sebastian, an antagonist to Bell’s character, who also attends the same class. With many of the cast being Jewish and the setting in a classroom about Judaism, fans can expect plenty of comedic gold with religious and cultural undertones.
Mejia will be joining the cast as Amber, a single woman on the prowl. Her character will be less focused on learning ancient Jewish law and more focused on locking in a modern Jewish husband. A possible match for her could be the newly cast Weber, who will be playing the role of Julian, a funny and secure divorced dad.
Production for the second season is in full swing, and fans can expect to have access to the new episodes as early as September of this year. The show is produced by 20th Television, and previous seasons are available now on Netflix.
