New Full Length ‘Fargo’ Trailer Released

After last week’s 30 second teaser trailer, Fargo has released a full length one.

The first full length trailer for Fargo clocks in 2:33 giving fans a better look at the plot and characters of season two. The shorter teaser we reported on, only 30 seconds long, can be viewed here. The anthology series has all new characters and crimes for season two. The new trailer, which can be viewed below, is set to era appropriate music. Dr. John’s “Right Place Wrong Time” sets the 1979 tone while also providing an accurate description of how the characters get into trouble.

The first clue as to what crime the season will examine includes what Patrick Wilson as state police officer Lou Solverson, originally think is a botched robbery gone wrong. It soon becomes clear that there is more than meets the eye in the initial crime scene.

Kirsten Dunst and Jesse Plemons as Peggy and Ed Blomquist are featured prominently in the trailer. Portrayed as an average couple at first, they soon appear to get into some trouble. One scene shows Peggy cleaning what looks like blood out of her shirt. Nick Offerman makes an appearance as well, as the town’s lawyer.

Ted Danson and Jean Smart are also set to star in the series. Joining Offerman as recurring characters on the series are Jeffrey Donovan, Bruce Campbell, Brad Garrett, Keir O’Donnell, Kieran Culkin, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Hogan, Cristin Milioti and Adam Arkin.

The trailer makes references to 1979 politics and gender relations. Watergate is mentioned and Ronald Reagan, portrayed by Bruce Campbell, makes a brief appearance. Brad Garrett’s character, part of an expanding Kansas City crime syndicate, describes Smart’s character, the matriarch of a crime family in Fargo as, “tough, but you know, a girl.”

As an example of the dark, often violent, comedy that Fargo is known for, a character demands to know if their hostage is listening to them after cutting off their ears.

Joel and Ethan Coen (creators of the movie Fargo), showrunner Noah Hawley, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron serve as executive producers for season two. Season two is set to premiere on FX in October.
