Season 5 of You is coming up, and fans are eager to know how the adventures of everyone’s favorite stalker/serial killer Joe Goldberg, portrayed by Penn Badgley (Gossip Girl, Easy A) will conclude. On Thursday afternoon, Netflix released two new teaser posters to showcase the concept of the fifth season and a release window, confirming that the final season will be released in 2025, Deadline exclusively reports.
According to Deadline, the thriller series was renewed for a last and fifth season in March of 2023. Badgley will be reprising the main lead role, who has been obsessed with several characters in the past four seasons.
According to Deadline, showrunners Michael Foley (How To Get Away With Murder, Brothers & Sisters) and Justin Lo (No Tomorrow, Mistresses) wrote and executive-produced the fifth season. It will also star Charlotte Richie (Ghosts, Wonka) Madeline Brewer (The Handmaid’s Tale, Hustlers), Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect, The Help), and Griffin Matthews (The Flight Attendant, Weeds). As previously reported by Deadline, Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer, Generation) will play the guest star role of Detective Marquez.
According to Deadline, recurring roles will be portrayed by Natasha Behnam (The Girls on The Bus, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Pete Ploszek (Parks & Recreation, Terminator: Dark Fate), and Tom Francis (Sunset Boulevard, Hope Mill Theatre: Rent).
According to Deadline, other former stars of You are Zach Cherry (Severance, Succession), Jenna Ortega (Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Wednesday), and Ed Speelers (Downton Abbey, Outlander) as Rhys.
According to Deadline, season 5 production officially wrapped in August 2024. The series was based on Carolie Kepnes’ best-selling novel of the same name. The fourth season of the series was set in London, where Joe changed his identity to Jonathan Moore by becoming an English professor. He stalked Marienne Bellamy, portrayed by Tati Gabrielle, around Europe.
