Netflix’s ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ Adds Neve Campbell

Nearly month after the casting of Manuel Garcia-Rulfo (Cake, The Magnificent Seven), the upcoming Netflix series, The Lincoln Lawyer, has announced that Neve Campbell (Scream) will be joining the series’ cast, according to Deadline. From the mind of David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies), the series is an adaptation from a collection of novels under the same name from Michael Connelly which witnessed a 2011 feature film adaptation starring Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar, True Detective) in the lead role. This television adaptation will contain a first season consisting of ten episodes and will center on the events of the first sequel within The Lincoln Lawyer novel series, The Brass Verdict

The Lincoln Lawyer novels and films follow the tale of the Los Angeles lawyer Mickey Haller who finds himself navigating the tricky waters of a criminal case for wealthy individuals. Haller has experienced minor success, but still operates his practice in his Lincoln car throughout the city of stars. For the television adaptation, Haller will be portrayed by Garcia-Rulfo and Campbell will join as Haller’s ex-wife, the Deputy District Attorney Maggie McPherson. Currently, these two actors comprise the upcoming adaptation’s cast. 

Kelley will serve as an executive producer and writer for The Lincoln Lawyer and will be joined by the series’ showrunner in Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife, Shark). The source novel’s author Connelly will also board the project as an executive producer in addition to Ross Fineman (Big Sky, Damien) serving in the same capacity. 

Currently, the series does not possess an expected premiere date nor a released production schedule.
