Netflix’s ‘Queen Charlotte’ is No. One on Nielsen’s Streaming Charts

Deadline reports the Netflix’s Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is number one on Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week of May 1 to May 7. The series was released on May 4 and received 1.9 billion minutes viewed within its first few days on Netflix.

According to Deadline, Netflix reported earlier this week that the series has already garnered 432.2M hours viewed.

Queen Charlotte‘s final viewership numbers will be available from Netflix after the end of the 28-day measurement period on June 1.

Queen Charlotte stars India Ria Amarteifio (Line of Duty, The Evermoor Chronicles), Corey Mylchreest (The Sandman, Elevator Pitch), Golda Rosheuvel (Death in Paradise, Bridgerton), Arsema Thomas (Redeeming Love, One Touch), Sam Clemmett (Cherry, Survivor), Michelle Fairley (Game of Thrones, Gangs of London), and Cyril Nri (The Act, Cucumber).

In the week that Queen Charlotte was released Bridgerton season one also drew in 125 million viewing minutes. That is triple its recent weekly viewership averages. Nielsen has predicted that Bridgerton will return to the top 10 in the near future because spinoffs often drive viewership to previous franchise content after watching the new series.

Netflix filled the top five on Nielsen’s streaming list for this week. Behind Queen Charlotte was Firefly Lane with 1.3 billion minutes viewed at number two. Number three was Sweet Tooth with 1.1 billion minutes viewed, number four was A Man Called Otto with 879 million minutes viewed and number five was Cocomelon with 715 million minutes viewed. Sixth place was shared by Paramount+ and Netflix with NCIS, which received 722 million minutes viewed.

Disney+ scored the seventh spot with Bluey, which had 719 million minutes viewed. Number eight went to Ted Lasso on Apple TV+ with 715 million minutes viewed, down 10% from the previous week. Netflix’s The Diplomat takes the ninth spot with 711 million views, having fallen from number one last week. Better Call Saul on Netflix rounds out the list at number ten with 63 million minutes viewed.
