Netflix has ordered a third season of the young adult drama titled Outer Banks, four months after the debut of the show’s second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A release date for the show’s third season has not yet been set.
Outer Banks follows John B, played by Chase Stokes (Tell Me Your Secrets), who enlists the help of his three best friends, JJ, played by Rudy Pankow (Not Me), Pope, played by Jonathan Daviss (Age of Summer), and Kiara, played by Madison Bailey (Black Lightning), to help him hunt for treasure linked to his father’s disappearance. The second season followed John B and Sarah, played by Madelyn Cline (Stranger Things), in hiding in the Bahamas, with their friends still searching for $400 million in gold.
Stokes, Bailey, Cline, Daviss, Pankow, Austin North (I Didn’t Do It), Drew Starkey (The Devil All The Time), and Charles Esten (Nashville) will all reprise their roles in the third season. Carlacia Grant (Roots) has been moved up to a series regular for the upcoming season.
