Netflix’s Black Mirror Season Seven: Star-Studded Cast And Sequel To Emmy-Winning ‘USS Callister’ Teased For 2025

According to Deadline, Netflix’s Black Mirror is gearing up for its highly anticipated seventh season, and the casting lineup is packed with star power. Among the 19 actors set to appear are Milanka Brooks (Mum and I Don’t Talk Anymore, Do Not Disturb), Peter Capaldi (Criminal Record, Doctor Who), Emma Corrin (Deadpool and Wolverine, The Crown), Patsy Ferran (Firebrand, Jamestown), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers, Sideways), and Cristin Milioti (The Penguin, Palm Springs), to name just a few. With such a talented ensemble, season seven is already generating excitement, even as specific character details remain under wraps.

As mentioned by Deadline, the new season, slated to return in 2025, will feature six episodes, including a much-anticipated sequel to one of Black Mirror’s most iconic episodes, USS Callister.” The original episode, which aired as part of season four, won an Emmy for its dark, thought-provoking portrayal of virtual reality and power dynamics. It starred Jesse Plemons (Civil War, Love & Death) as Robert Daly, a disgruntled programmer who creates a virtual world where he has complete control over digital clones of his co-workers.

According to a teaser released by Netflix earlier this year, the sequel will explore the aftermath of Daly’s demise, hinting at new challenges for the crew of the USS Callister. “Robert Daly is dead, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning,” the teaser cryptically stated, leaving fans eager to see where the story goes next.

According to Deadline, Black Mirror was created by Charlie Brooker (Arkangel, Cunk Of Earth), who serves as an executive producer alongside Jessica Rhoades (Cloud 9, Rags) and Annabel Jones (Dead Set, Cat Burglar). Produced under Brooker and Jones’ Broke & Bones banner, the anthology series continues to explore the darker aspects of technology and human nature. Distribution is handled by Banijay Rights. As production for season seven continues, fans are bracing for another round of mind-bending narratives that only Black Mirror can deliver.
