Netflix to Release All 26 Episodes of ‘Cowboy Bebop’

According to Entertainment Weekly, Netflix will stream all 26 episodes of the popular anime, Cowboy Bebop, starting October 21. The news comes in anticipation of the live-action adaptation series premiere.

Cowboy Bebop follows Spike Seigel (Kôichi Yamadera), Faye Valentine (Megumi Hayashibara), and Jet Black (Unshô Ishizuka); bounty hunters working from the spaceship, Bebop, as they travel around space catching criminals. Hacker Edward and a genetically engineered Corgi, Ein, join the three later in the series.

The anime was directed by Shinichirō Watanabe (Blade Runner: Black Out 2022) and written by Keiko Nobumoto (Tokyo Godfathers).

The Japanese anime first premiered in 1998. The show came to the states under Cartoon Network’s adult block, Adult Swim, in 2001 — being the first anime to air on the network — and the show became popular among American audiences. Cowboy Bebop is known for its action, comedy, and music.

The original voice actors from the original anime are set to return for the Japanese dub of the upcoming live-action series, which will stream on November 19. John Cho (Harold & Kumar) will star as Spike, alongside Mustafa Shakir (Luke Cage) as Jet Black and Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) as Faye Valentine. Elena Satine (Magic City) and Alex Hassell (The Boys) will also be a part of the main cast as Julia and Vicious, respectively.
