According to Deadline, Netflix has revealed the trailer for the animated reboot of late Norman Lear‘s (All in the Family, Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman) hit sitcom Good Times. The animated reboot will have a total of 10 episodes for its first season. Good Times, the animated series, is scheduled to air on the streamer on Friday, April 12th.

The cast of the series includes J.B. Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Harley Quinn) as Reggie Evans, Yvette Nicole Brown (Community, Star vs. the Forces of Evil) as Beverly Evans, Jay Pharoah (Invincible, A Black Lady Sketch Show) as Junior Evans, Marsai Martin (Black-ish, Grown-ish) as Grey Evans, Gerald “Slink” Johnson (Black Jesus, White Men Can’t Jump) as Dalvin Evans, Rashida “Sheedz” Olayiwola (South Side, Sherman’s Showcase) as Lashes by Lisa, Venus DeMilo Thomas (Family Matters, Salute Your Shorts) as Tina, and many others.
According to Deadline, the official Logline, per Netflix is as follows: “An animated reboot of the Norman Lear series finds the latest generation of the Evans family, cab driver Reggie and his wife, the ever-aspirational Beverly, scratching and surviving in one of the last remaining housing projects in Chicago along with their teenage artist son, Junior, activist daughter Grey, and drug dealing infant son, Dalvin. It turns out the more things change the more they stay the same and keeping your head above water in a system with its knee on your neck is as challenging as ever. The only thing tougher than life is love, but in this family, there’s more than enough to go around.”
Executive producers for the animated series include Lear, Brent Miller (Ninjango), Steph Curry (Game On!), Erick Peyton (Holey Moley), Jeron Smith (Why Not?), Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), and Erica Huggins (The Dark Tower).
