Netflix Reveals Premiere Date For ‘Bridgerton’ Season Three

Created by Chris Van Dusen (Scandal, Grey’s Anatomy), Bridgerton first debuted in December 2020 with the second season premiering in March 2022. The series is based on the book series by author Julia Quinn (The Lost Duke of Wyndham, The Sum of All Kisses). According to Deadline, Netflix has revealed the premiere date for the third season of Bridgerton, which will consist of eight episodes. Part One of the series will be released on May 16th, 2024, and Part Two will be released less than a month later on June 13th.

The official X/Twitter account for Bridgerton made a post announcing, “Rejoice in this most thrilling news. Bridgerton Season 3 shall debut in two parts: Part 1 on May 16th and Part 2 on June 13th.” The post, which also contains the announcement in video form, can be viewed below.

The third novel in Quinn’s Bridgerton book series focuses on Benedict Bridgerton, who is the second oldest brother of the Bridgerton family. However, back in May 2022, it was revealed that the series was switching it up by having the third series be based on Quinn’s fourth novel titled Romancing Mister Bridgerton. The premise for this story focuses on Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton (The Lodge, Lake Placid: Legacy), and Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan (Derry Girls, Barbie).

When this news was first announced, Coughlan took to Instagram, stating “Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time… but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story.” Her post can be viewed below.

In addition to Dusen, executive producers for the series include Shonda Rhimes (Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Grey’s Anatomy), Betsy Beers (Grey’s Anatomy, Casanova), and Julie Anne Robinson (One for the Money, The Last Song).

Fans can look forward to the return of Bridgerton in 2024.
