Below is the teaser trailer revealed by Netflix for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft.
Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft is based on the video game franchise Tomb Raider that started in 1996. The franchise spans 19 games with different timelines. The franchise also has three films in which the role of Lara Croft is played by Angelina Jolie (Mr. & Ms. Smith) in the 2001 and 2003 films and Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina) in the 2018 film. Atwell will now be taking on the mantle of voicing Croft in the new anime series.
The Square Enix trilogy follows the hardships of Lara Croft’s origin story and how she became a hardened survivor. The anime series will pick up from where the trilogy left off and continue the dangerous adventures of Lara Croft.
According to Deadline, this will be the first time Lara Croft has journeyed into an animated series. The series will be written by Tasha Huo (The Witcher: Blood Origin) who will also executive produce with dj2 Entertainment Founder and CEO Dmitri M. Johnson (Little Nightmares) as well as Tim Stevenson (The Andy Griffith Show) and Dan Jevons (We Happy Few).
A release date for the Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft has not been confirmed.
