Netflix Reveals ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Teaser Trailer

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has recently premiered the trailer for their live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The trailer showcases the first detailed look at what is to come from the series. Up until now, Netflix has only given fans first-look images of the series and the cast. The trailer shows more detail of the characters and the series along with a release date scheduled for February 22nd.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series follows the story of 12-year-old Airbender Aang who after learning he is the Avatar, accidentally becomes frozen for 100 years. After being discovered by Sokka and Katara,  Aang learns how the Fire Nation has taken over the world. Through his journey to become the Avatar and bring balance and peace to the world, he learns to master all four elements. The series is based on the popular Nickelodeon animated series that ran for three seasons. 

The live-action cast includes Gordon Cormier (Lost in Space) as Aang, Kiawentiio (Beans) as Katara, Ian Ousley (13 Reasons Why) as Sokka, Yvonne Chapman (Family Law) as Kyoshi, Casey Camp-Horinek (DreanKeeper) as Gran Gran, James Sie (Stillwater) as Cabbage Merchant, Tamlyn Tomita (Tekken) as Yukari, Maria Zhang (All I Ever Wanted) as Suki, Ruy Iskandar (Yes Day) as Lieutenant Lee, Momona Tamada (The Baby-Sitters Club) as Ty Lee, Thalia Tran(Raya and the Last Dragon) as Mai, Dallas Liu (The Slumber Party) as Prince Zuko, Elizabeth Yu (Somewhere in Queens) as Princess Azula, Daniel Dae Kim (The Divergent Series: Insurgent) as Fire Lord Ozai, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee (Kim’s Convenience) as General/Uncle Iroh, Ken Leung (Strange Planet) as Commander Zhao, and many others.

 Avatar: The Last Airbender will premiere on Netflix on February 22nd.
