

According to Deadline, Netflix has renewed Untamed starring Eric Bana (The Time Traveler’s Wife, Black Hawk Down) for a second season. Written by Mark L. Smith (American Primeval, Quarto do Medo) and Elle Smith (The Marsh King’s Daughter, Estranged), the series follows Kyle Turner, a special agent for the National Parks Service who enforces human law in nature’s wilderness. The investigation of a brutal death sends Turner head straight into the dark secrets within the park, and into his past.
*Spoilers ahead* As per Deadline, the second season of Untamed, Bana returns to investigate a new mystery. At the end of the first season, Turner left Yosemite National Park and hit the road, letting go of years of emotional baggage.
“I am absolutely thrilled that we get the chance to bring another season of Untamed to life,” Bana said in a statement via Deadline. “The response to Season 1 has been a testament to the incredible effort by our crew to deliver something truly unique. I can’t wait to take Kyle on his next journey.”
“Elle and I envisioned it as a stand-alone, six episodes,” Smith told Tudum of the first season via Deadline. “But then the more that we got into it, it was just such a great cast … it was just like, ‘Oh yeah, how do we keep this going?’ ”
According to Deadline, the cast of the series includes Bana as Kyle Turner, Sam Neil (Jurassic Park, The Twelve) as Paul Souter, Rosemarie DeWitt (Rachel Getting Married, Your Sister’s Sister) as Jill Bodwin, Lily Santiago (La Brea, Vineyards) as Naya Vasquez, William Smillie (What They Had, The Dark Knight) as Bruce Milch, Wilson Bethel (Daredevil: Born Again, Generation Kill) as Shane Maguire, Raoul Max Trujillo (Blue Bettle, Dark Winds) as Jay Stewart and many others.
As per Deadline, Mark and Elle serve as co-showrunners and executive produce alongside Bana, John Wells (The Company Men, The West Wing) and Erin Jontow (The Pitt, Animal Kingdom) via John Wells Productions, Todd Black (The Piano Lesson, Antwone Fisher) and Tony Shaw (The Bourne Legacy, Streets of Rage) for Escape Artists Entertainment, Steve Lee Jones (Chief of Station, You Don’t Know Jack) for Bee Holder Productions, and Cliff Roberts (The Midnight Sky, Emancipation) for Syndicate Entertainment.
