According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has renewed The Vince Staples Show for a second season. The show was originally meant to be a limited five-episode scripted comedy series that followed rapper Vince Staples (White Men Can’t Jump) on events that were loosely based on his life.
Staples said, “The Vince Staples Show is back! The people have spoken and the most riveting, captivating, and polarizing show on Netflix is returning for season two. Get ready for hijinks that only a mother can love. Thank you, Netflix!”
As per The Hollywood Reporter, after premiering back in February, the series was met with great reviews and currently has a 94 percent rating among critics and a 91 percent score from viewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Vince Staples Show is loosely inspired by Staples’s life and takes place in Long Beach, California. The show follows Staples as he navigates life as a kind of famous, rich and criminal rapper. Through the five episodes, he is constantly put into adventures that just seem to happen while also trying to figure out how to make his mother happy.
The series creators include Staples, Ian Edelman (Puerto Ricans in Paris) and Maurice Williams (Entergalactic). Executive producers for the series include Staples, Kenya Barris (Grown-ish), Corey Smyth (Concerning Violence), Edelman, Williams and William Stefan Smith (Two Single Beds).
The cast for the series includes Vince as himself, Andrea Ellsworth (Truth Be Told) as Deja, Watts Homie Quan (Black Is King) as The Homie, Vanessa Bell Calloway (Coming to America) as Anita, Tiberius Byrd (Abbott Elementary) as Deshaun, Rick Ross (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) as himself, Patrick Walker (I Got Hands) as White Boy and many others.
The Vince Staples Show is available to stream on Netflix.
