Netflix Renews ‘Elite’ For Fifth Season

The popular Spanish-language teen drama Élite has been renewed by Netflix for a fifth season, alongside news of new cast members, according to The Hollywood ReporterValentina Zenere (Soy Luna) and Andre Lamoglia (Jucacas) will be joining Élite‘s fifth season as series regulars.

The 2018 series details the story of three working-class students who are forced to attend an exclusive Las Encinas private school – where only Spain’s most elite students are found – after their academy is demolished in an earthquake. As exemplified in the first three students, the clash between these different groups of students is exasperated when a student is murdered. The fourth season of the drama is expected to premiere on the streamer later this year.

Élite stars Miguel Bernardeau (Wave of Crimes), Itzan Escamilla (The Idhun Chronicles), Claudia Salas (The Plague), and Georgina Amorós (Welcome to the Family), along with newcomers Zenere and Lamoglia. It was previously announced that the series’ fourth season will feature new cast members Andrés Velencoso (Edha), Manu Rios (Pepe’s Beach Bar), Pol Granch (Factor X), Carla Díaz (Big Brother Brasil), Martina Cariddi (The Invisible Guardian), and Diego Martín (Hermanos & Detectives).

The series has been widely well-received since its debut, with the first season having been watched by 20 million member accounts globally. Netflix confirmed that filming of the fifth season of the Spanish drama has already begun in Spain while the fourth season is still yet to be released.
