Disney+’s ‘Moon Knight’ and ‘She-Hulk’ To Begin Production

The upcoming additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the television form, Moon Knight and She-Hulk, are expected to begin production soon, according to CBR.com. Following the January premiere of WandaVision, Marvel Studios has begun its rollout of various original series for Disney+ that is a part of phase four of MCU. This news comes to light ahead of the March 19 premiere of the second Disney+ and Marvel Studios series Falcon and the Winter Soldier

During the 2021 Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Marvel Studios Kevin Feige (Iron Man) commented that She-Hulk will begin its production process shortly and then Moon Knight will follow shortly after. Currently, these two series are slated for a 2022 premiere, although it is unknown when these series will be released in the upcoming calendar year.

Moon Knight will star Oscar Isaac (Ex Machina) as the character Marc Spector who has been transformed by Moon God and has subsequently received great superpowers. The series cast will also include May Calamawy (Ramy) and Ethan Hawke (Sinister, Training Day) with the latter being cast as an unnamed villain character. The series will consist of a six-episode first season and will be released on Disney+.

She-Hulk follows the introduction of Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, after a blood transfusion between the two, granting Walters the power to become the titular superhero. The cast will feature Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) in the titular role of Walters/She-Hulk. Additionally, Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight) will reprise his role as the Hulk, or Banner, for the series alongside the returning Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction) as The Abomination, who was last seen in The Incredible Hulk starring Ruffalo’s predecessor Edward Norton (Rounders). Ginger Gonzaga (Kidding) will also star in the series, which has been revealed to be a legal comedy series.

This news of production starting for these two Marvel Studios series also follows the reveal that the upcoming Marvel Studios series Loki will also be premiering on June 11.
