Netflix Releases Trailer for ‘To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before’ Spinoff ‘XO, Kitty’

The youngest Song Covey sister is back to cause more love-related mayhem. According to Deadline, Netflix just released the trailer for the spinoff series of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, called XO, Kitty,  which has actress Anna Cathcart (Odd Squad, Spin) reprising her role as Kitty Song Covey. The show will premiere on May 18 and will consist of ten episodes.

According to Deadline, the series will follow Kitty, a teen matchmaker who thinks she knows everything about love. But when she moves to a Korean boarding school to reunite with her long-distance crush, Kitty will realize that relationships are way more complicated when it’s her heart on the line.

XO, Kitty will star Cathcart as Kitty; Minyeong Choi (Entertainer, Mr. Sunshine) as Dae, Kitty’s crush; newcomer Gia Kim as Yuri; Sang Heon Lee (Gran Turismo) as Min Ho; Anthony Keyvan (Love Victor, Student Body) as Q; Théo Augier Bonaventure (Grown Ups, Endless Night) as Florian; Peter Thurnwald (Bump, Players) as Alex; Yunjin Kim (Lost, Money Heist: Korea) as Jina; John Corbett (Rebel, Serendipity) reprising his role as Dan Covey; Michael K Lee (A Korean Odyssey, George Takei’s Allegiance) as Professor Lee; Jocelyn Shelfo (The Summer I Turned Pretty, American Soul) as Madison and Regan Aliyah (BF for Hire) as Juliana.

According to Deadline, the show from Awesomeness and ACE Entertainment is a spinoff inspired by the popular movie trilogy and book series by Jenny Han (Burn for Burn, Shug). The author will serve as the dramedy’s creator and has also co-written the script for the first episode alongside Siobhan Vivian (Little Einsteins). Han will also serve as co-showrunner with Sascha Rothchild (The Baby-Sitters Club, Glow). The two showrunners also serve as executive producers alongside Matt Kaplan (Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Don’t Let Go) from ACE Entertainment.

Kitty Song Covey was first introduced in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before as the protagonist Lara Jean’s, played by Lana Condor (Boo Bitch, Moonshot), younger sister. In the movie, Kitty plays a key role as she is the one who finds and sends the love letters Lara Jean had written to the boys she had had crushes on, triggering the follow-up events in the movie. Cathcart as Kitty had the ability to steal the scene in the movie trilogy, making the path for the spinoff an easier one.

XO, Kitty will premiere on Netflix on May 18. To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, P.S. I Still Love You, and Always and Forever, Lara Jean are all available to stream on Netflix. Don’t forget to watch the trailer for the new show below.
